The Union County Housing Assistance Payment Program waiting list is now closed.
To be eligible your income must be at or below the income limits posted. Preference will be given to Union County residents, seniors, disabled, domestic violence, veterans , income target and working.

Change of Address
Applicants on the waiting list MUST keep their contact information current. Failure to inform the program of an address change will result in the applicant's removal from the waiting list.

Applicant Portal & Waiting List Status
Applicants on the current waiting list may check their position on the list by entering thier Social Security number in the link below. Development Directions LLC will not give this informaiton over the telephone. If the client does not have access to a computer or smart phone to check their status, they may request it in writing. It is important to note that an applicant's position on the waiting list can change as the list has preferences.
The Union County Houcing Choice Voucher Program opened the waiting list on June 1 at 9AM. The public notice stated that 500 applications would be accepted. When 500 applications were received at 9:08AM, the portal stopped allowing access to the application. Persons with applications in process at that time were allowed to complete their application and were added to the list which is now much larger than originally anticipated.
Please note: submitted applications cannot be changed. If your current mailing address changes, you should notify the program administrator Development Directions LLC in writing at 1600 St. Georges Ave. Suite 314 Rahway NJ 07065.
The waiting list is accessed as vouchers become available. There is no way to determine how long it will take to work through the waiting list. You may be contacted in within several months or it could take several years.
